Oren and Sharon Peled built their ecological tourism farm in the upper Zin riverbed as part of the ‘Desert Language’ project. Founded in 2016 on the ruins of ancient Nabatean farmland, it includes an olive grove, vineyard, deciduous orchard, organic vegetable garden, and plot of experimental Arizonian Mesquite.
At Mesquite farm 30 dunam of sauvignon blanc, syrah, French colombard, and chenin blanc grow, from which thousands of bottles of wine are produced.
The campsite includes pergolas that grant shade to tents, as well as closed dome tents with wood burning stoves, kitchenettes and wading pools. An onsite food truck serves high-end sandwiches, hot and cold drinks, wine from the farm, and seasonal fruit. The farm is an ideal location from which to embark onto the trails of Makhtesh Ramon, Har HaNegev, Nachal Tzin, or on shorter trips to neighboring farms and Mitzpe Ramon.
