Yeruham Vineyard

Our Story

Yeruham Vineyard is a family-owned boutique vineyard on the outskirts of the city of Yeruham. In 2018, the first 10 dunams were planted and each year the vineyard continues to plant, renew and expand. Spanning 120 dunams on the outer ridge of Shoalim Riverbed, olive groves and vineyards grow on historic agricultural land, as evidenced by ancient terraces.

Our Wine

The Yeruham Vineyard grows over 100 dunam of grenache, viognier, malbec, syrah, petit verdot, petit syrah, roussanne, chenin blanc, and chardonnay. The desert soil and local climate grant the wine grapes unique character. All nine varieties planted were identified in advance as fitting for Negev conditions. Grapes in the vineyard are grown for premium desert wines, with close attention paid to quality, as evidenced by the uncompromising care given to crops. Wine produced from the grapes emphasizes the unique character of desert wines.

What to do

Visitors are invited to tour between the trellises and hear the vintner and team describe the establishment of the vineyard, impressive methods of cultivation, and struggles that confront desert farmers. At the visitor’s center, guests can taste the winery’s olive oil and fine wine.

Close to Lake Yeruham and just a short drive from a variety of local attractions, visitors can go to a lookout from Mount Avnon overlooking Makhtesh Yeruham, as well as take part in culinary experiences and a variety of workshops in town.
