Ramon Vineyard

Our Story

Ramon Vineyard was founded in 2010 and is the largest vineyard in the Negev, spanning 650 dunams. The vineyard is a land-based social enterprise with 50% of profits returning to the community through projects aimed at supporting the residents of Mitzpe Ramon. Furthermore, the vineyard continually employs residents of Mitzpe Ramon, and during the harvest, large groups of young adults join in the work.

Our Wine

At the Ramon Vineyard, the topography and climate are a great advantage. At 800 feet above sea level – the heat of the day and very cold nights, provide ideal conditions for growing grapes. Today, over 450 dunam of 12 varieties of wine grapes grow: cabernet, syrah, merlot, chardonnay, muscat canelli, gewurztraminer, malbec, petit verdot, shiraz, sauvignon blanc, semillon, chenin blanc and pinot noir. Three varieties of table grapes also grow, including crimson, sufrio and mistry. The grapes are harvested once a year at the height of summer and are distributed to wineries country-wide from which hundreds of bottles of wine are produced.

What to do

In the heart of the vineyard, guests enjoy a beautiful, lush orchard with wading pool, shaded seating, a large lawn with fruit trees and breathtaking views. In the vineyard, guests enjoy agricultural tours featuring the pioneering story of its establishment, wine tasting, grape picking, basket making from grape vines, bicycle, and jeep rides.
