Tushia Winery

Our Story

Gal and Roni Tushia established the agricultural-educational farm in 2012 in the heart of the desert between sand dunes on the border of Egypt and live with their four children in the neighboring Moshav Be’er Milka. In 2020 they built the winery where over 10,000 bottles of wine and grape juice have been bottled. Those who work on the farm are Jewish volunteers.

Our Wine

At Tushia, they preserve land untainted by chemical fertilizer and pesticides to preserve its dignity and well-being. On the land, 9 dunams of cabernet sauvignon grapes grow and are harvested by hand, thus continuing Nabatean tradition. Additionally, 11 dunams of table grapes, along with many dunams of olive groves and varied orchards grow.

What to do

At the farm there are guided tours that share the unique historic and geographic context and exciting personal story of Roni and Gal’s path from performing at night clubs in Tel Aviv to building agricultural educational farm in the desert. On the tour, visitors pass through the varied crops, tasting seasonal fruit, and learning about sustainable, organic desert agriculture and the integration between stewarding the land and nourishing spirit.
Through wine and olive oil tasting tours, participants can learn about the process of wine making, taste, and learn to identify the differing qualities between each one.
