The 12 Point

Our Story

The 12 Point is an inspiring ecological-art-tourism farm founded by artist, Doron Efrat, and his partner who desired to create a cultural bubble that operates under alternative laws and logic-an island of sanity. Currently, Shaul and Rotem, the second generation of artists, live on the farm together with their children and lead the agricultural, cultural, and art activities.

The numerous orchards on the farm are adorned with works of art by both generations and breathtaking sitting areas are scattered throughout. The farm operates from a place of great love toward the earth and creation, and it’s a realization of the founders dream to create a space where it is possible to peacefully raise a family, where one can grow up and remain a child, a place with breathing room that shifts with the seasons, in tune with the cycles of nature.

Wabi Sabi is a Japanese philosophical belief that inspires the farm’s work and teaches that beauty is found in the imperfect, and in all that’s alive and fades. These principles guide the farm’s architecture in relation to the earth, vineyard, food, and way of life.

Our Wine

The farm’s vineyard was planted 14 years ago on five dunams of land, including malbec, petit syrah, merlot, cabernet sauvignon, and shiraz grape varieties.
The vineyard is organic, and the wine is produced entirely on-site, from picking the grapes to harvesting, pressing, and bottling.
These local wines, produced in a small winery that draws from the natural ecological system, are flavored by the simplicity of farmers, enriched by the deep strength of those who grew up locally where irrigation is rationed, and rainfall is low.

What to do

The farm offers unique lodging with private guest houses as well as a gallery for events. The farm is in the wilderness of the northern Negev, where the combination of agricultural activity and the breeze from the sea alter the typical desert landscape into the perfect place for excursions to be enjoyed in pleasant weather nearly year-round.
Guests can visit the nearby Bitronot Ruhama Reserve, and the Gerar and Shikma rivers.
Bike paths, “pick-your-own” fruits and vegetables, and other agricultural activities can also be found in the area.
